Music for Little Ears at Home

Great news! Our friend Samantha from Orange Regional Conservatorium is now delivering the fantastic Music For Little Ears at Home online. Register now with us via eventbrite to watch a series of 6 weekly videos Samantha has created to explore fun and interactive ways for children with singing, nursery rhymes, percussion and movement! Music has been proven to help with learning literacy and language. And keep an eye out for some special guest appearances in the coming weeks. Let’s get ready to sing and dance.

Introducing Indyreads

We have topped up our digital content to help you stay entertained during COVID-19 Government restrictions with the launch of an innovative platform indyreads. You can now access more than 11,000 new ebooks and audiobooks at home for free.

Developed by the State Library of NSW, indyreads gives CWL members 24/7 access to a range of ebooks including fiction titles by well-known and popular authors, poetry collections, cookbooks, educational books, local studies resources and much more.

Indyreads also includes books from independent Australian and international publishers as well as the best examples of self-publishing, offering communities a greater diversity of stories.

To log onto indyreads you will need to:

  • Download the app from the App Store or Google Play to use on your phone or tablet.
  • Choose ‘Central West Libraries’ from the drop down list
  • Type in your library card number
  • Type in the password or PIN number associated with your library card.

Things to do at Home

While our doors are closed Central West Libraries is open online 24/7 and we have created some activities for you to do at home. Enjoy Eye Spy – Old Tek and Treasures in Nature, Scavenger Hunts – Around the House and Online Treasures, Lego Club Challenge – Get building, Gardening – Plant a winter crop and Storytime at home with us.

Discover ebooks, eaudiobooks and magazines with BorrowBox and rbdigital, movies & documentaries for adults and children with Kanopy streaming services, magazines, newspapers through Newsbank Access Australia and Gale Onefile News Newsstand. Information to help with assignments is here too.

Time to discover new skills through your local Library – reading books, find new hobbies, start a foreign language course, join a book club or update your resume and improve your job skills.

Try using our Lifelong Learning online service available weekdays from 3pm to 10pm. You can be at a library computer, or home computer and get help from a job expert, using on-demand online chat to improve a resume and cover letter.

Log in through the library’s website using your library card number, and get connected to a local expert. Ask interview tips, upload your resume for review, get help with English, business writing, job skills, grammar and more. Use your library membership for online tutor help

Just in time for returning to school. Yourtutor has reopened with access via your library membership card between 4pm and 8pm Monday to Friday. It is an online, one-to-one, on demand access to a real-life teacher or tutor.

So if you have a problem with your homework and need assistance, do not waste time worrying about it. Log on and ask your question.  Even good students get stuck during their studies and need help. Go to our home page, click on the drop down menu info@home and yourtutor, then enter your library membership card number.

Subjects include:


  • Essay and report feedback, including history and humanities writing
  • Maths – 3 to 6, Maths – 7 to 10, Maths – General & Intermediate
  • Maths – Specialist / Extension
  • Science – General, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
  • Assignment and project research
