Sangita's Singing

You are invited to join children’s author Libby Hathorn when she launches her book Sangita’s Singing.  It is also a great opportunity to meet a successful children’s author and talk to her about writing. Sangita’s Singing is set in Nepal and covers issues of belonging, bullying, loneliness, making friends and forgiving, the importance of family and learning to read.

Libby Hathorn has been a supporter of the Mitrataa Foundation for several years and has visited Nepal a number of times to conduct workshops and training for teachers and girls.  She was inspired to write this children’s story  about a girl from the village who is given the opportunity to attend school in Kathmandu, the first member of their family to lean how to read.  The book was illustrated by Nepali artist, Bandana Tulchan, and published in Nepal.

Libby generously covered the publishing costs of the book so proceeds from sales of the book go to support Mitrataa’s projects in Nepal.  The book is for sale for $20. Meet author Libby Hathorn Orange City Library Friday 19th July at 4pm. She is a keen educator and also believes in the power of poetry to open hearts and minds. Please book your place by calling 6393 8132. Supported by Boomers Bookshop and ABC Centre.
