Easy instructions to knit squares for charity

By June 24, 2011No Comments

We invite you to help us knit squares during June/July for the Wrap with Love Charity which donates knitted wraps to people in need around the world supported by ABC Local Radio and here are all the details you need to help:

Materials Required:
Each square must measure 25cm x 25cm (10 inches x 10 inches)
Please use 8 ply yarn and 4mm needles.

Directions:
Cast on 50-55 stitches depending on your tension and knit plain (garter stitch) until it measures 25cm. Only join wool at the end of a row.
(Please do not knit one row plain and one row purl as the square will curl up).

Completed wraps are constructed using 28 squares (4 x 7) but donations of single squares are appreciated.

There is a designated area set up inside the Library with needles and wool ready for you.

Contact Lisa Martin at Orange City Library on 6393 8120 for further information. Have fun for a good cause!
