While we wait for another Freeda sighting, scientists have discovered proof giant platypus once roamed Australia………..An extinct species of giant, toothed platypus has been found and identified in far north-west Queensland, using a single tooth.

The University of NSW team suspects the ancient monotreme existed between 5 million and 15 million years ago.  The giant platypus discovery has been published in the Journal of Vertebrate Palaeontology. Could Freeda be off searching for her ancestors?
