Get Writing Thursday

Get writing! ABC Open Write Club meets Thursday 6th November from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at Orange City Library. Join is the challenge to write a 500 word non-fiction story to a set theme each month and have it published online.  And if you are stuck for a story? Come and brainstorm your ideas with us. The aim is to publish your story on the ABC Open website. Get writing!

Come along to a Weaving Workshop hosted by Orange Fibre Artists Group and Wiradjuri Arts Group Condobolin to be held at Orange City Library on Saturday 15th November from 10am to 4pm.

It is for beginners and intermediate weavers and titled “The Next Steps”. Bookings before the 15th November are essential. Cost is $50 per person and pre-payment is required before the workshop. For more information about the workshop, please call Helen on 6360 2024.

A colossal effort! Our Library branches have been busy preparing for the gigantic book sale at Orange City Library on Saturday 25 October 10am to 2pm. Come along to the back dock in Byng Street to check out hundreds – even thousands – of books for sale from 50 cents.

Bargains, bargains, bargains. Celebrate National Garage Sale Day with us and pick up a book bargain or two. From 10am to 2pm on Saturday 25 October we will be releasing books to the community for sale. Books are priced from 50 cents each and magazines just 20 cents. So come along and buy a book or two. Also check out bargains like chairs, tables and display shelving from the Orange Visitor Information Centre, Art Gallery items and more – all at Byng Street.

Celebrate the launch of this children’s book Wally Wollemi and his dinosaur trees by local writer and artist Anita Stanfield on Wednesday 5th November at 3pm at Orange City Library. Anita has a background in high school art teaching and landscape painting. She is an Australian native habitat artist who illustrated for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
