Local author Kelly Rimmer

Before I Let You Go is Kelly’s first novel to be published in print in Australia and New Zealand. Kelly lives in Orange with her husband, two children and fantastically naughty dogs, Sully and Basil.

Lego Club is Back

Lego Club is back! Lego Club is for anyone aged 6+ to sit in and build things with us on the last Monday of each month. Projects include Millennium Falcon, Technics Car, Architecture Studio, Random Lego Build and Mixel Clan Build. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Banjo Paterson Writing Awards Call for Entries

The Banjo Paterson Writing Awards 2018 are now open for entries. Banjo Paterson was born on February 17, 1864 and to celebrate his birthday anniversary Orange City Library, the Central Western Daily and ABC Central West Radio announce the call for entries in the writing competition.

There are three categories:

Short Story – First prize $2,000

Contemporary Poetry – First prize $2,000

and ABC Central West Radio Children’s Writing Awards – First prize $200.

The competition closes on Friday 20th April 2018 and winners will be contacted by phone on Friday 6th July.

 

Library on the Go is Back

Library on the Go classes have returned to Orange City Library. These are technology skills sessions for mobile devices, held weekly on Tuesdays for one hour from 2pm – 3pm for older members of the community. These sessions are limited to six participants and are free to library members. Please bring your device if you have one. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite.com.au or call 6393 8132.

Free Film Streaming: Kanopy Launch

The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is now available for members of Central West Libraries.  It includes a collection of over 30,000 of the world’s best films – award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favourites, indie and classic films and world cinema. Have your library membership number and PIN number handy, then follow a few steps on the Kanopy website https://cwl.kanopystreaming.com/to sign up for the service. Members may choose up to 10 films and documentaries each month. As Kanopy is a streaming service, downloads will count towards the data limits on your home internet plan. Start streaming today. Enjoy!
