How Do I Get A Library Card?
Membership of the Library is free and available to all residents of Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes and Orange. When joining proof of name and residential address are required. Examples of identification are rates notice, drivers licence, pension card or electricity bill. If you’re under 18 years of age you’ll need the signature of a parent or guardian.
Non-residents who are members of another NSW public library are eligible to join free of charge. You will need to show a current library card and some other form of identification at the time of application.
Once you’ve filled out an application form you will be given a library card that you can use immediately at all branches of Central West Libraries. You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card.
What Will I Be Able To Borrow With My Library Card?
- Up to 15 books (including magazines and kits)
- 6 DVDs
Plus the following:
- 4 audio books
- 4 compact discs
- 2 CD-ROMs
- digital downloads
Temporary residents and home library members may borrow a different amount of items at one time. Ask library staff for details.
How Long Can I Keep The Items I’ve Borrowed and/or Renewed?
Items may be borrowed for 7, 14 or 28 days depending on the collection and demand. The check out loan slip shows when items are due. All items may be renewed at your library or by telephone 6393 8132 or online at www.cwl.nsw.gov.au. Renewals are possible as long as another library user has not requested items.
Where Can I Return the Items?
Items on loan can be returned to any branch of Central West Libraries. You do not need to return items to the same branch you borrowed them from. After-hours return shutes are located at Orange, Blayney, Cowra, Forbes, Molong and Canowindra Libraries.
What Does It Cost To Use The Library?
Borrowing any item is FREE. You only pay for overdue items.
