Ancestry, FamilySearch and findmypast in the library

Visit one of our branches to start your research or to do some in-depth genealogy. CWL offers access in the library to the following online resources:

Ancestry Library Edition is a large collection of documents from a variety of countries. It may be used by those starting out on their family research as well as the more experienced genealogist. Records include census, birth, death, marriage records, immigration and court records. Some functions available through the Ancestry.com individual subscription are not available in the Library Edition.

Findmypast is another family history online resource which has census, life events (births, deaths and marriages), migrations and military records. CWL has subscribed to the Australian, Irish and United Kingdom editions. Personal researchers may use the Library’s public PCs.

Central West Libraries is a FamilySearch Afflicate Library with access in each branch to the FamilySearch services sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Begin searching this vast collection of genealogical records visit their website by clicking here using one of the public computers at Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes, Manildra, Molong and Orange.
FamilySearch require each user to register for a free account to gain full admission to its resources and services although a selection of brief results may be found without registering.
Remote access away from the branch library is unavailable under the Affiliate Library agreement.
