Family History
Orange City Library has entered into a partnership with the Orange Family History Group and their combined resources which are held in the Library are a treasure trove for people interested in tracing their ancestors.
Resources are available in a range of formats including CD-ROM, microfiche, microfilm, books maps and the Internet. Information available includes:
- Births/deaths/marriage records
- Convict records
- Passenger and shipping records
- Census information and electoral rolls
- Newspapers
- Telephone and other directories
- Cemetery transcripts
- Handbooks and guides
- Family History newsletters
- Online databases including Ancestry.com and Find My Past
Volunteers from the Orange Family History Group are available at the Orange City Library from 10.30am – 3.00 pm each Friday to help people with their research.

An excellent collection is also maintained at the Blayney Library in conjunction with the Blayney Shire Local and Family History Group. Members of the y Group are available to assist with research on request.
The Cowra Family History Group has a separate Library in the Cowra Library building. Enquiries should be directed to the group.
Forbes Family History Group has a seperate research room and library at the rear of the Forbes Library building with entry from Harold Street. Enquiries should be directed to the Group.
