Family history the beginning and beyond

Central West Libraries Librarian Peter Douglass with workshop presenter Martyn Killion and Meg Searle from the Orange Family History Group at the recent workshop. Martyn Killion from the Society of Australian Genealogists presented a workshop about Family History research on Friday to the Orange Family History Group (partners with Central West Libraries), community and Central West Libraries team. The day long training covered all aspects of researching family history from how to organise your research to the importance of documenting every step, resources to use from guides, archives and books to websites as well as newspapers, probates and cemetery records. It was an informative and enjoyable day and everyone learnt from the sample exercises. Thank you to all who came along and keep researching!
