Community Benefits from Food For Fines

Central West Libraries thanks local communities for being so generous in paying library fines with food items during January. The donated items were presented to representatives of the Salvation Army and St Vincent De Paul charities for local distribution and in Cowra to the Wesley Centre Food Bank. Pictured is Frances from Orange City Library handing over the first of 30 boxes to Chris Skerry of Vinnies; Captain Greg Saunders Salvation Army, Orange; and Rosie Frecklington who said Vinnies Cafe and Van clients will benefit from the donations. More than 1,000 library items had their fines paid for with food donations throughout January. So we say a huge thank you to everyone who participated. Well Done!
