Wishing a Happy Retirement to Allan Symons

Allan and his wife Debbie

Allan and his wife Debbie

Today we say farewell our Canowindra Librarian Allan Symons who is retiring after a long career serving the Canowindra book loving community. Since 1995 Allan has been meeting and greeting customers and assisting with their enquiries. Now he will take time out to spend more time on perfecting one of his pastimes – fishing. After a long lunch, presentation of a card signed by his colleagues and what he said the perfect parting present – a gift card from Boating Camping Fishing (BCF), Allan said his time with Central West Libraries had been a blast! He said he came to librarianship late in life after working in many different roles including as a fitter and turner. Wishing you “tight lines” on the fishing front Allan, from all the Central West Libraries crew.
