We were surprised to receive an anonymous poppy donation in the Library with a note: “I was told purple poppies were for animals (horses, pigeons, dogs) that did not come home.” We are not sure how many animals went to WWI from Orange but we will add these purple poppies to our poppy memorial in the Library.
