Orange Purlers Donation to Soldiers

Carole Thompson, from volunteer knitters group the Orange Purlers, hands over 57 beanies to Rhonda Sawtell, representing Rotary, for soldiers in Afghanistan Hats for Heroes program.  Carole knitted more than 20 beanies for the project. The helmets our soldiers wear make their heads cold and the shelling creates a vibration so the hats need to be warm but not bulky, 8 ply wool and in dark colours. Congratulations to all involved in this project.
