First Power Pole for Orange
This week marks the 100th anniversary of the first power pole being erected in Orange on the corner of Anson and Byng Streets. This happened on 8 January 1923. The 45 foot (13.7m) pole came from Telegraph Point, near Port Macquarie and Mayor Arthur Colvin at the time helped lift the pole into place.
