There's A War On Exhibition at Cowra and Website

By June 7, 2011No Comments

World War II was a time of great change for the people of NSW. For some, supporting the war effort led to adventure, love, lasting friendships and new experiences. For others, wartime meant loss and hardship. There's a War On! World War II at Home showcases the varied experiences of the men, women and children who fought the war on the home front.

A workshop for the current exhibition on at the Cowra Art Gallery-There's A war On! World War II at Home was held on the weekend. The Co-curator of the exhibition, Sarah-Jane Rennie, gave an interesting floor talk highlighting the local memorabilia on show. This included a Japanese POW cap and photos from the Pardey collection of locals on V-day dancing on the main street.

Following this she ran a website workshop and demonstrated how the exhibition website http://www.tawo.org.au/wiki/index.php/Welcome (which is a wiki) can be used for personal contributions to add to the collection of objects and information on show.
