Wentworth Mine Airing of the Quilts

Be part of this amazing display of quilts at Wentworth Mine in March 2020. The deadline for entries has been extended to Monday 13 January 2020. The historic Wentworth Main Mine site, Lucknow, will host the inaugural Airing of the Quilts on 7-8 March 2020. The 1930s goldmine will be the back drop for the professionally judged and curated quilt show – revitalising the village of Lucknow’s economic heritage. Be part of it or tell a quilter you know.

 

 

Waste 2 Art Exhibtion

This exhibition and competition at Orange City Library gives aspiring and professional artists the chance to explore and share their waste reduction messages while showcasing their artistic ability. This year is the Year of Polystyrene. Come along and see the amazing creative artworks.

 

Dalton Exhibition

Dalton Exhibition at Duntryleague Until Sunday 17 Nov

Orange and District Historical Society is featuring an exhibition about the Dalton family, their store and flour mills in Orange, their vast pastoral holdings throughout western NSW, their import/export business in Sydney, their support of the Catholic Church, and their strong allegiance to the Irish cause for independence from Britain.

The exhibition will be at Duntryleague (pictured below – formerly the home of James Dalton and his large family) Woodward Street, Orange, from 10am-4pm until Sunday, November 17. Entry is $5 for adults and $3 for school children.

Last Days for There's A War On! Exhibition

There's A War On! WWII at Home

 The popular exhibition There’s A War On! World War II at Home is on show at Orange City Library until Friday 25 January. It’s been a popular display and the local content, newsreels and items have attracted plenty of interest. People have until Friday 25 January to see the display supported by Museums and Galleries NSW.  Then we make way for our science display from the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.

Celebrate International Year of Chemistry

2011 is the International Year of Chemistry (IYC) a celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well-being of humankind. And to celebrate, the library is hosting a chemistry exhibition. It covers interesting topics such as nuclear medicine, find out about a radioactive clock and knocking out bacteria. Check it out at Orange City Library.
