Happy 25th Anniversary Orange Regional Gallery
Happy 25th Anniversary to Orange Regional Gallery and to help celebrate the Library is displaying some fabulous banners created by 50 residents of Orange and the surrounding district (see picture). They are really amazing and close up inspection will reveal all the effort that has gone into the banners. The celebrations don't stop there, the Gallery has wide ranging tours and events planned, so why not call into the Gallery to collect a flyer.

Holiday Activities Teach Fun Arty Crafts
Children (and some parents) had fun at the bead making and jewellery frame making sessions held during the school holidays. All the classes booked out early. Caitlin and Sophie brought along their mum Fiona (pictured) to help them make their jewellery frame holders. It is a clever idea and displays jewellery can like an art work (which is handy as it also makes it is easy to find). Many children used various colourful ribbons and paint to decorate their frames and had plenty of fun in the process. Thanks to Lisa and Adrienne from the Library for making it all possible and the children who brought their creative spirits and parents along for a fun time.
Felting and Quilling Holiday Activities
Children had lots of fun at our Holiday Activities crafty workshops learning felting or quilling. Quilling is also known as paper rolling, paper scrolling and paper mosaic and children made fantastic creations in these classes. Creative children were also adding their own touches to colourful felt zipper purses with love hearts, dogs, flowers, snowmen and lady beetles all making an appearance.
Pictured is Caitlin, then Katherine and Isabel, and Julia and Emily showing their own felt designs.
Clever Crafty Children Make Felt and Glue Bookmarks
Children had a fantastic time at our school holiday activities weaving and making felt and glue bookmarks (with a bit of sewing too!). The range of bookmarks was just amazing with everything from puppy dogs to mice and Christmas trees being created. It will certainly be fun to see which one pops up in your next book. Pictured are Fletcher and Cooper with their incredible creations enough for a pile of books, Julia's puppy and mouse and Georgia and Emily with their clever creations. Well done everyone!!!!!
