Breaking News .....Freeda the Reader Found

Freeda homecoming

Freeda homecoming

Happy cheers, tears and hugs (and sighs of relief! Phew!) today with Freeda the Reader returning safely home to her friends and colleagues at Orange City Library. The search for missing Library Mascot, Freeda the Reader, is over. She was found, safe and well, thanks to the hard work of Orange Police assisted by super slueths all over the Central West as part of Summer Reading Club.

Snr Constable Greg Treavors returned Freeda today as sightings, clues and information from the public led police to re-visit Lake Canobolas.  He spoke to children today about the importance of telling friends and family about where you are going and explained how police conducted the investigation.

Freeda told everyone of her amazing adventures – fishing, camping, visiting other libraries, reading, meeting people on the road and said all she wanted to do was host a party! She was the special guest at the Summer Reading Club Wrap Party held today. Thank you to everyone who expressed their concerns and helped locate our Platypus Mascot.
