Keep knitting for Wrap with Love Charity

By July 1, 2010No Comments

Wow! there sure are some busy knitters out there. We have already received lots of squares and a number of “wraps” have already been created. You can see them at Orange City Library. We'd love some more donations of 8 ply black wool and remember you can drop into the Library anytime to help knit a square! Why not ask your friends to join you? It is a great meeting place and you'll be doing your bit to support a great cause.

The Wrap with Love charity began with the idea to help as many people as possible by providing warm Wraps to ward off hypothermia and in the past 18 years they have sent more than 221,700 Wraps to people in over 75 countries, including Australia, with the help volunteers. There are millions of people around the world suffering extreme cold and we can help by knitting (10 inch by 10 inch) squares to make the wraps – 28 squares make a wrap.

Cowra Library will also be hosting the close of the ABC Local Radio Knit In on Wednesday 28 July from 11am till 2pm. Like last year they will be assisted by the local knitting group and light refreshments will be provided. Remember the bags will be collected on July 31st do drop in any finished wraps or squares.
