Music For little Ears Returns Wednesday 23 July and Friday 25 July
Join in the fun of Music for Little Ears. Listening to different types of music helps “little ears” get ready to learn language skills. We have percussion instruments just the right size for little hands: Bells, Maraquitas, Drums & Tambourines. Samantha from the Orange Conservatorium presents the musical program at the library on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10am. Children aged 3-5 years are welcome to join the program. Call library staff on 6393 8132 to book your place for term four starting on Wednesday 23 July.
Music For Little Ears will initiate little ears to classical music, singing, percussion, dancing and musical games. This helps children learn language and social skills. The program is supported by Orange Regional Arts Foundation.
Baby Rhyme and Read Returns on Monday 21st July
If you would like to learn words and actions to popular nursery rhymes to teach your little ones, then come along to Baby Rhyme and Read at Orange City Library. Parents and carers are invited to get involved in the baby Rhyme and Read sessions to help prepare their babies for learning to read. Babies aged from 0 to 12 months enjoy rhymes, singing and sounds to help them develop and learn. The nuts and bolts of literacy are established in childhood. Parents, carers and adult role models have a powerful impact on their child’s enjoyment of reading and their ability to read. By singing nursery rhymes, reading and talking to your baby, they will get used to language and enjoying it – and that is what these sessions are about.
Baby Rhyme and Read sessions are free and will be held from Monday 21st July at 10.15am for six weeks at Orange City Library, Byng Street, Orange. Each session goes for just 30 mins. Places are limited so please call the Library on 6393 8132 to book your place.
Congrats to Baby Rhyme and Read Graduates
Congratulations to all our baby Rhyme and Read graduates for this term. All participants take home a nursery rhyme songbook and CD to keep practising songs and nursery rhymes at home. Baby Rhyme and Read classes for babies 0 – 2 years return next school term on Monday 5th May from 10.15am for 30 minutes for six weeks. Each session includes rhymes, actions songs, finger plays and stories. To book please call the Library on 6393 8132. Keep reading and singing!
