By May 10, 2017No Comments

2016 Readers and Writers Festival

This year we are exploring memoir and life stories and we have a mix of new and experienced writers for an enlightened program.  Author Amanda Hampson will conduct a memoir writing workshop on Friday 21 July and will then talk about her latest book The French Perfumer at the Festival on 22 July.

We encourage you to join our presenters:  authors Amanda Hampson, Annette Janic, Dr Catherine Bishop, 2015 Miles Franklin Literary Award winner Sofie Laguna and ABC TV The Drum presenter Julia Baird. State Library of NSW Mitchell Librarian Richard Neville will provide a different view from his experience as a judge of the Miles Franklin Literary Award.

Dr Catherine Bishop’s fascinating memorial to Sydney’s first female entrepreneurs has recently won the 2016 Ashurst Literature Prize, Australia’s most significant award for business writing.

Orange Regional Arts Foundation are once again supporting the event. The full program will be announced soon. So keep the date free and tell all your friends and family. We look forward to seeing you in July at the Hotel Canobolas.
