Creative Life Writing Workshop, Memories of Place: writing through the senses will be presented by Dr Rae Luckie on Wednesday 3rd May from 1pm to 4pm. This practical workshop is suitable for beginning or experienced writers, and would also help genealogists to bring their stories to life. Writing exercises and examples of how life stories can be written will jog the memory and inspire creativity as participants gain confidence in their ability to write expressively. Limited places. Cost $25. Book your place by calling Orange City Library on 6393 8132.
Feisty Fabulous and 50+ Author Talk
Feisty, Fabulous & 50+ is a collection of 21 ‘warts and all’ autobiographical stories of women navigating their way through their 50s and beyond. The stories are inspirational, frank and uplifting as each woman tackles her own set of challenges – from financial security to discrimination to life-threatening illnesses – all recounted with humour, insight and self-depreciation, and demonstrating the under-stated strength and resilience of these fabulous women.
Meet the author of Feisty, Fabulous & 50+, Julie Ankers, at Orange City Library on Monday 8th May at 12.30pm, Forbes Library on Tuesday 9th May at 2pm and Cowra Library on Wednesday 10th May at 2pm.
Good Reading Magazine Online
Use your Central West Libraries Card to read the April edition of Good Reading magazine online. Read the cover story to find out how book editor and author Sara Foster psyched herself up to write the tragic and grisly scenes in her new character-driven crime novel, The Hidden Hours. In a time-hopping new novel, Catherine McKinnon tells the tales of five very different people – from the year 1796 to 2033 – who live on the banks of Lake Illawarra, and in Juliet’s Answer, Glenn Dixon shares his experience of responding to letters from the lovelorn in fair Verona, Italy, as one of Juliet’s secretaries. There’s also lots of fiction, non-fiction and kids’ reviews. Enjoy!
Libraries Closed ANZAC Day
Please note Central West Libraries – Blayney, Canowindra, Manildra, Cowra, Molong, Forbes and Orange will be closed on ANZAC Day Tuesday 25th April. Normal hours will resume on Wednesday.

Meet 23 year-old Jessica when she talks about her gap year in Malawi at Orange City Library on Wednesday 26 April at 5.30pm. Bookings on eventbrite.com or call 6393 8132.
