Happy New Year 2022
Happy New Year and welcome to 2022 from all at Central West Libraries!! As we bid a fond farewell to the good, the bad and the ugly in 2021, let’s hope for all the best in the year ahead.
Whether it is a time for reflection or new starts, we have everything you need at our libraries in Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes, Molong, Manildra and Orange.
Come and see us if you wish to make the most of our online resources like reading apps, magazines or streaming movies from home or you need parenting, health, hobbies, craft, language or business information. Whatever resolution you plan to tackle, we can provide resources. And if you are not a member – why not join? It is free.
Usual hours resume at most of our branches from Tuesday 4 January, and Manildra Library from Wednesday 5 January.

Well what a year! Thank you for rolling with the changes and supporting our Libraries – Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes, Manildra, Molong and Orange in 2021. Holiday Opening Times
How are your Christmas plans going? Don’t forget to call into your local library to stock up on reading, watching and listening materials for the holidays.
Our library branches at Blayney, Canowindra, Cowra, Forbes, and Molong will close early on Friday Christmas Eve (24 December) at 3pm, then usual hours resume on Tuesday 4 January 2022. Manildra Library will be closed for the Christmas break from Saturday Christmas Day (25 December), usual hours resume on Wednesday 5 January 2022.
And our online services for ebooks, emagazines, eaudiobooks, Story Box Library and Kanopy, Kanopy Kids and Beamafilm are available on the CWL website 24/7 www.cwl.nsw.gov.au Enjoy!

Pre-Christmas Craft Activities
Get ready for some fun festive craft!!!
At Orange City Library join in Christmas Craft on Monday 20 December from 9am to 12.30pm. We are hosting a festive craft-making-session for children to create decorations, gift tags, wrapping paper and more.
Also learn about the Summer Reading Club and all the great Summer Holiday activities we have in store for you at Orange City Library. This activity is designed for children aged 6 and over. Please book your place on line via Eventbrite.com.au or call us on 6393 8132.
At Cowra Library the Christmas spirit continues with the December Christmas Roundtable on Monday 20 December and Wednesday 22 December at 10.30am. Enjoy making paper strip Christmas trees, paper chain reindeer and snowmen and hand-traced Santas! These sessions are for children aged from 3 years and up. Free Creative Kids Box
Get a box full of free activities with all the resources you need included delivered to your door for free! The State Library of New South Wales Creative Kids Box is filled with activities inspired by the Library’s collections to delight and inspire all curious and creative primary school aged children. They will provide detailed activity instructions and a box full of creative supplies delivered straight to your door – and with your NSW Government Creative Kids Voucher it is completely free!
Inspired by the Library’s new picture book The Best Cat, the Est Cat, the Library Box brings the big Library to you! All 10 screen-free activities in this box highlight the Library and its fascinating collections in interesting and accessible ways.
From the moment this box arrives on your doorstep, the activities inside will have you painting, playing, reading, building, baking, constructing, crafting and writing. Best of all, this box contains plenty of ideas, instructions and resources to repeat and extend the activities for MONTHS to come.
