Queen's Birthday Holiday Monday

Please note Central West Libraries will be closed for the Queen’s Birthday on Monday 14 June. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday 15 June including Blayney Library which has been closed for some building work.

Please ensure you borrow reading, watching and listening materials to get you through the long weekend. Library ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movie streaming and Story Box Library are available online www.cwl.nsw.gov.au 24/7 using your library card.

Saturday hours:

Canowindra: 10 – 12 noon

Forbes: 10am – 12 noon

Cowra: 10am – 12.30pm.

Orange City Library  9.30am – 4pm and Sunday 1pm – 5pm.

 

 

 

National Simultaneous Storytime

Central West Libraries members will be treated to an out-of-this-world experience during the 2021 National Simultaneous Storytime at Orange, Cowra, Forbes, Manildra and Molong libraries.

Space and science-themed dress-ups are encouraged for adults and children alike!

NASA astronaut Dr Shannon Walker will present this year’s featured book Give Me Some Space by author and illustrator Philip Bunting from the International Space Station on Wednesday, May 19 at 11am.

The story, about a young girl’s dreams of life in space and completing her mission, will be read simultaneously to more than one million children across Australia and New Zealand. Come along and join the intergalactic fun.

Meet Author Richard Anderson

You are invited to meet Richard Anderson author of Small Mercies and our One Library One Book community read when he visits the Central West.

Told with enormous heart, Small Mercies is a tender love story. It is a story of a couple who feel they must change to endure, and of the land that is as important as their presence on it.
Richard Anderson is a second-generation farmer from northern New South Wales. He has been running a beef-cattle farm for twenty-five years, but has also worked as a miner and had a stint on the local council. Richard is also the author of two rural-crime novels, Retribution and Boxed, both published by Scribe.
