Banjo Paterson Writing Award Winners

Three incredible writers haven made history by becoming the first joint winners in the Short Story Section of the 2021 Banjo Paterson Writing Awards and impressive writing featured in the ABC Radio Children’s Awards. We are pleased to announce the winners:

Library Programs are Back

With news that the lockdown for Blayney, Cabonne and Orange Local Government Areas will be lifted, most CWL programs will resume from tomorrow – Wednesday 28 July.

Bookings are now open for Storytime, 1,2 Books and Ten Minutes a Day at Orange City Library.
**Please note: Music For Little Ears at Orange City Library will resume on Wednesday 4th August and Friday 6th August. Bookings will open one week prior (soon).
Molong Storytime will be on Friday 6th August at 11.15am. We sing songs, play games, make craft and enjoy stories. Come along and join in the fun.
Storytimes at Canowindra, Cowra and Forbes Libraries continue as per usual.

Libraries Reopen After Lockdown Ends

The stay-at-home orders currently in place in the Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council, and Cabonne Shire Council areas will be lifted at 12.01am Wednesday July 28 (midnight tonight) Woohoo! Great news!

NSW Health said there has been no further transmission of COVID-19 detected in the region since the case notified on 20 July.
Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council, and Cabonne Shire Council will revert to the same NSW Health Orders as the rest of regional NSW from tomorrow (Wednesday).
So please remember to sign-in, wear a mask, socially distance 1.5 metres, use the hand sanitiser provided, handwash thoroughly and regularly, and please get tested if you have COVID-like symptoms and stay home if unwell.
Libraries at Blayney, Canowindra, Manildra, Molong and Orange will resume usual hours from tomorrow – Wednesday 28 July.

Blayney, Cabonne, Orange Libraries Closed

Please be advised due to the current lockdown in Blayney, Orange and Cabonne Local Government Areas, libraries in Blayney, Canowindra, Manildra, Molong and Orange will be closed for the next 7 days. Cowra and Forbes Libraries are open.

CWL online services – Story Box Library, audiobooks, magazines, Beamafilms, Kanopy, Kanopy Kids are available online 24/7 via the website: www.cwl.nsw.gov.au.

Library programs planned for the next 7 days will not be going ahead – this includes Orange and Canowindra Storytimes, Music For Little Ears, 1,2 Books, Ten Minutes a Day, Orange Purlers, Orange Family History Group, Code Club, and Lego Club.

If you have library items due, please call us on 6393 8132 to renew them for you. Any reservations will be available for collection after the lockdown ends.
