Baby Rhyme and Read Returns on Monday 21st July
If you would like to learn words and actions to popular nursery rhymes to teach your little ones, then come along to Baby Rhyme and Read at Orange City Library. Parents and carers are invited to get involved in the baby Rhyme and Read sessions to help prepare their babies for learning to read. Babies aged from 0 to 12 months enjoy rhymes, singing and sounds to help them develop and learn. The nuts and bolts of literacy are established in childhood. Parents, carers and adult role models have a powerful impact on their child’s enjoyment of reading and their ability to read. By singing nursery rhymes, reading and talking to your baby, they will get used to language and enjoying it – and that is what these sessions are about.
Baby Rhyme and Read sessions are free and will be held from Monday 21st July at 10.15am for six weeks at Orange City Library, Byng Street, Orange. Each session goes for just 30 mins. Places are limited so please call the Library on 6393 8132 to book your place.
Music For Little Ears Returns
Sounds like fun: introduce “little ears” to classical music, percussion, singing, dancing and musical games at Orange City Library’s Music For Little Ears. Supported with a grant from Orange Regional Arts Foundation, this program is about having fun and stimulating young minds. Studies have shown that there is a correlation between listening to music and preparing for learning. Children move around, listen to different types of music, learn about sounds, loud and soft, and rhythm – fast and slow led by Samantha from Orange Regional Conservatorium. It is free. And you can come along on a Wednesday at 10am or Friday at 10 am. Just call us at the Library on 6393 8132 to book your place. Each session runs for 20 minutes and it for children aged 3 to 5 years.
